Kinema in the Woods in Woodhall Spa is putting on a new Christian film Jesus Revolution on Mon. 19th June at 1pm and 7.30pm.
It would be lovely if this is well attended. It would encourage the cinema to put on more Christian films in future.
Please encourage your congregation to come – ideally arrange a group outing. If advance bookings are good, they may well add an extra screening(s).

Suggestion for the 1pm matinee:
Your church probably runs groups for retired people. The leader might like to arrange an outing for everyone to the 1pm screening – they can reminisce on the days of flower power and the moon landing! It would be lovely to have many elderly folk enjoying themselves in the cinema together.
Maybe your church could pay the cinema ticket for anyone in the group for whom cost might be a problem.

This week I managed to see Corrie ten Boom’s The Hiding Place at an encore screening having missed its opening cinema showings two weeks ago due to helping out at a children’s camp.
I knew the original film of The Hiding Place well having seen it several times over the years and was expecting this filmed theatre version to be fairly similar. How wrong I was!
It was superbly adapted to the medium of theatre. For example it moved forward and back in time in an original way. This enhanced all sorts of different points not least Papa ten Boom’s famous illustration of handing Corrie the train ticket only at the moment that she needed it. There were several occasions in the story where Corrie needed to remember this.
Screenings at Woodhall Spa’s Kinema-in-the-Woods are:
next Tues. 5th Sept. at 7.30pm
and next Fri. 8th Sept. at 1pm
Do encourage everyone in your church who is eligible (it’s a 12A) to go and see it. They won’t regret it and will find it an outstanding evening or afternoon out.
Advance bookings at Kinema-in-the-Woods are rather slack at the moment:
So do please really encourage everyone to go at your church services this Sunday.
They will have a wonderful time out as well as showing the cinema that it is worth their while to put on Christian films.
Consider going out for tea as a group after the 1pm Friday showing.
Ticket prices:
Tickets for Event cinema are more expensive than for ordinary films because they are based on what you might pay if you were watching the same in the theatre (or opera / ballet etc). On this basis they are very cheap when you are effectively getting the best seat in the theatre with all the close-ups etc. So it is well worth the price.
