Children’s Play Area

Following a successful Big Lottery bid in 2006 Hemingby boasts state of the art play facilities for children up to the age of twelve. Our play area is close to the Village Hall (please park near the hall) and is open for villagers and visitors to enjoy with much of the play equipment suitable for disabled children.

For the older children we also have an area for ball games which can be accessed from the Parish Path which links St Margaret’s Church to New End.  The play area is located where the path crosses Hemingby Beck.

Managed by the Play Area Committee these facilities offer a safe place to play at the heart of our rural village away from major roads and hazards.

All members of the Play Area Committee remain active by holding events throughout the year to boost the funds needed for maintenance and to expand the facilities for all our children. Geared towards the young members of our community we are keen to promote all activities that will help young villagers get exercise and have fun. Please keep an eye on the WHAT’S ON page to find out what’s happening next.

In addition to our annual maintenance schedule the Play Area Committee carries out regular inspections of all apparatus to ensure everything is kept safe and clean. However if you spot any defects please let us know by calling Charlie Bryant on 01507 578118 immediately.

The Committee has purchased several items of outdoor games which can be borrowed for a small donation. Items include a sturdy Giant Connect Four, Hop Scotch, Giant Dominoes, Wooden Croquet and Giant Draughts. So, if you are having a garden party or BBQ,  call 01507 578118 to arrange collection and your guests will be entertained for hours.
